Excursions to the Piceno
GROTTAMMARE
The ancient and the modern both overlook the sea: Grottammare is a continue discovery, where it is possible to appreciate during the walks, next to suggestive panoramas, the history and the architectonic and artistic beauties handed down in time, like the Borgo Antico with its historic-artistic museums and the Liberty villas in Colombo Avenue.
Grottammare (download PDF) is also the ideal starting point to visit impressive typical medieval towns of the Piceno territory, retreated on the hills, at very few km from the sea, like Ascoli Piceno, the town of travertine and "dining room" of Italy, Offida, the town of the pillow laces and architectonic jewel, Ripatransone, where you can find the Italian narrowest lane and Acquaviva Picena.
Visiting Piceno doesn't grant only this, but it gives the possibility to enrich ones holiday with cultural outings, wine-gastronomic journeys, country feasts, medieval feasts ... for a stay at 360°.
Nice little Art-Train for the outings of Grottammare and excursions by bus.
